The Midway Difference
|
It started with a challenge: how can Midway Document Destruction have a positive impact for both its clients and its community? The answer sprung from Midway president Jerry Siegel’s long relationship with Little City Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides programs and services for people with developmental disabilities. Having served on Little City’s Board of Directors for many years, Jerry was well aware of the many challenges people with disabilities face when trying to find meaningful employment. |

He envisioned a partnership between Midway Document Destruction and Little City in which Midway could place Little City residents in jobs at its shredding facility, where they could do real work for real pay. The idea was a hit, with Little City excited about job opportunities and customers thrilled to be able to help out deserving individuals. Midway Document Destruction also agreed to give a portion of its shredding proceeds back to Little City. To reach more people and create more jobs, Midway began to partner with other non-profits serving the disability community. The result has been a win-win-win for Midway, its clients and people with disabilities in Illinois.
